What exactly does Televic do?

“Televic Group is a technology company with four separate disciplines: Televic Conference is a global player in conference systems. Televic Rail provides communication and travel information on trams and trains. Televic Healthcare supplies nurse-call systems. And Televic Education offers "assessment" solutions for schools and governments and the "smart classroom". We offer a controlled multimedia environment.”

What does the Africa project entail?

“We set up classrooms in Africa. The challenges are very specific: many students in one room, aggressive dust, high humidity, vermin, high temperature, corrosion, strong light, many lightning strikes, unstable electricity grid, difficult service provision, etc.

Nothing, absolutely nothing is what it seems. Thorough preparation, knowledge of local challenges and customized solutions are an absolute must to bring projects to a successful conclusion. Televic offers a turn-key Smart Classroom solution with national Assessment. In other words, we roll out tens/hundreds of Smart Classrooms with an infrastructure that allows national exams to be organized. These types of projects are particularly labor-intensive and disruptive. This results in an irregular workload, which is undesirable in environments with a major shortage of skilled workers. That is why Televic decided a few years ago to outsource the non-core activities to partners who are good at it.”

What do you use our products for?

“DSIT supplies various products for the Africa project. These include racks, projectors, LAN switches, WiFi routers, PDUs, cables, patch cords, video adapters, serial adapters, cable harnesses, battery profiles and electrical panels for the racks. In addition, DSIT takes care of the entire logistics part and actively participates in the search for solutions. Finally - and this is not unimportant - DSIT is a single point of contact and arranges communication with third-party suppliers. This means we no longer have to manage dozens of orders. One email, and DSIT does the rest.”
